Teresa H. Kerry

Well, that was a rather long speech -- and not terribly exciting. My Beloved Spouse said I was falling asleep. Wuuuhl, yeah. I was.

Tee's speech aimed at hitting the pitches that Pres. Clinton swung at and hit ("Strength and wisdom are not opposing values...."), but she missed. ("My only hope is that, one day soon, women - who have all earned the right to their opinions - instead of being labeled opinionated, will be called smart or well-informed, just as men are. ") Oh, come on. Smart or well-informed? Who writes this powdered stuff? I know more than a few opinionated women and I think calling them merely "smart" or "well-informed" would be almost an insult. How about "Intelligent?" That's what I'd call my opinonated missus.

My daughter thinks watching all of this stuff on T.V. is a waste of time. "You can read all about it in the newspaper, for crying out loud." Or not. I think she was just trying to make points with Daddy.

It's kinda fun filling in the pauses with my own ideas of what they really mean to say. Maybe humor is the only way I'm going to get through this.

Speaking of humor, I thought Mike Luckovich's July 22nd cartoon was pretty funny. And Steve Benson's, on the same day, had a nice Cheney slap! Not to be outdone, the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS News Media) points out that Tee once referred to Democrats as "putrid." Oh boy! Wonder how John's gonna handle that one!

Only 98 days to go.

Maybe I'll get to run and bike today (look at the time......). Nighty-night, 'net!
